World TB Day – what is RESULTS doing?

World TB day is next week, on Wednesday 24th March, and the RESULTS team will be involved in a number of exciting activities taking place throughout the day.

An Open Letter will appear in the Times newspaper calling on readers to support the UK Coalition to Stop TB’s new campaign for World TB Day ‘TB: A disease of the past? Action now!’ highlighting current problems with TB control in the UK and globally. The campaign calls for demonstrations of commitment to the fight against TB from MPs and the candidates running in the upcoming election.

At 12pm on 24th March a delegation from the UK Coalition to Stop TB will be going to No. 10 Downing Street to deliver the TB Election Asks. The delegation will include Lucy Chesire (well known HIV-TB  advocate from the Kenya AIDS NGOs Consortium), Aparna Barua from the UK Coalition to Stop TB, Mike Smith, Coordinator of the APPG on Global TB and Clare Shaw and Kibble Ngalauka, from Target Tuberculosis and The Sue Ryder Foundation, Malawi, respectively.
