RESULTS is highly interested in the issue of access to education for girls in West Africa. The West and Central Africa region contains nearly 35% of the world’s out of school children – over 8 million in one country, Nigeria, alone – and we have been closely involved with efforts to improve the lot of Nigeria’s schoolchildren over the last year. With the Nigerian elections for President, Parliament and Governorships currently under way, it is timely to look into how this crucial issue is being addressed by civil society organisations throughout the country.
