My name is Sabrina de Souza and I am very excited to be (re)joining RESULTS as the new Health Advocacy Assistant working on nutrition.
It’s fair to say I’m no stranger to RESULTS. I started my career with the charity, a little over a year ago, as the Events and Fundraising Intern. I had the opportunity to work on some fantastic events, including Live Below the Line and the RESULTS National Conference.
Prior to joining RESULTS I studied for my MPH in International Development at the University of Sheffield. As part of my studies I spent 3 months conducting field research in both Kenya and Tanzania. It was in Tanzania, while I was conducting field research on the impact of losing a parent to HIV/AIDS on the well-being and development of children, where I first became interested in child nutrition.
My interest in nutrition continued to grow while at the UK Consortium on AIDS and International Development, as the Policy and Network Intern, researching the links between HIV and nutrition.
I’m so pleased be back at RESULTS at such an exciting time. As the Health Advocacy Assistant, I will be supporting the health team on their advocacy and policy work related nutrition and child survival. This is a new issue area for RESULTS UK and I look forward to taking an active role in developing and implementing RESULTS’ nutrition work.
