Our guest speaker on the call was Mike Podmore, Policy Manager at the International HIV/AIDS Alliance. The Alliance is is a global partnership of nationally based organizations which support community organizations which promote HIV and AIDS issues in developing countries.

The call signalled the launch of our October action, in which we are asking all of our grassroots to contact Justine Greening MP, Secretary of State for International Development, asking her to make a new announcement on UK funding for the Global Fund to fight AIDS/TB and Malaria.

Mike spoke about the importance and efficacy of the Global Fund, he outlined the UK’s history of support for the organisation and where our government currently stands. Finally he spoke about the importance of acting on this issue now.
