RESULTS welcomes Dan Jones as Campaigns Manager

Dan JonesHi folks,

My name’s Dan and I’m on Day One here at RESULTS UK! I’ve taken on the role of Campaigns Manager. I’ll be leading our campaigning and advocacy work around global education, and particularly the focus on inclusive education and disability. I’ll also be working with the rest of the team here to help plan and deliver our work across health and micro-finance issues as well.

I’ve just returned from a year in Nairobi, Kenya as a VSO volunteer working with Special Education Professionals, a small organisation supporting children with disabilities and their families in Kenya’s poorest communities, especially Nairobi’s slums. My work there included strategic planning, fundraising, training and more. I saw with my own eyes the barriers and stigma facing children with disabilities, and the vicious circle of poverty and disability which traps millions in Kenya alone. Education is a huge part of improving their lives, and I’m really excited that through RESULTS, I’ll be able to make a real difference in this area.

Before Kenya, I worked for two UK charities – RNIB, one of the UK’s biggest charities supporting blind and partially sighted people. And before that The Children’s Society, where I managed campaigns aiming to improve the lives of refugee children in the UK. Going further back, I’ve worked as a civil servant for three UK Government Departments, and I have an MA in International Politics.

Really excited to be working here at RESULTS, and I look forward to getting to know all of our dedicated campaigners in due course.
